Totem Energy Reading for the Current Moon Phase
Our spirit guide for This Moon Phase is a magical one indeed. We Have the Raven Traveling with the Moon as she transits through Capricorn from 10/07/2016 until 10/12/2016 when she begins her journey through Aquarius.
First we Start with our Moon transiting through Capricorn and the energy it brings. Capricorn being a cardinal sign has a bit more umph to it. Capricorn is a master planner and organizer, it brings us the desire and or drive to do something with our lives. If we happen to be in limbo with who we are, where we are in life, and what we are doing with our lives this can bring one of two emotional energies. The first one is to be inspired to really dig down and work on creating that person, and the second energy it can bring is a bit heavier and sad. Today's society puts so many expectations upon people. The young are expected to know “what they want to be when they grow up” at a very young age, and every year that age gets younger and younger. They are now expecting 8th graders to have a complete vision of who and what they will be in their adult years.
This is an age where they should be forming who they are and nothing more. And they are also being taught that each one them is so very special, and are being given awards for just showing up. In the beginning this was done to boost their self esteem, but in the long run a generation was created that expected everything to be given to them and they all expected to be millionaires by the time they were in their early to mid 20’s. Because of this ever decreasing age and expectations we now have so many young adults wondering in the world with a feeling of failure because in their early 20’s they haven't achieved what most generations are barely achieving in their 40’s.
Regardless of your position in life, Capricorn brings you the energy to design. For those who are lost if you can just see through the mist you wander in for but a moment, Capricorn can bring you a new vision. And for those of you who have a plan but have felt stuck for a bit Capricorn can aid you with the drive you need to get over the wall that holds you back, you can do one of two things, jump over it, or break through it, it’s up to you on how you handle the situation.
Now our Guide the Raven Swoops in. Much like the Crow, Raven carries the energy of the messenger, and of creativity. I have watched many a Raven do some amazing things. They are smart, shockingly smart at times. Years ago i managed a New Age store at the mouth of the Ogden Canyon in Utah. Being outside of the city in the foothills we had a plethora of wildlife that would come to our store. But my Favorites were our Ravens, Crows and Magpies. The Ravens though were smart little buggers. On our property we had wild walnut and chestnut trees growing and they would gather them and bring them to our parking lot and set them out for cars to run over and crack open. But if this plan did not work they would take them high in the air and drop then down onto the pavement to crack open. But when that failed they would take them up again, and throw them down, not drop them but throw them down at the cars in our parking lot. They found that the windshields of the cars worked better at breaking the nuts open. Smart birds, very smart birds. I have even seen them target people's cars that had shooed them away as they were walking into the store, and then throw the nuts at them as they walked to their cars. Mide you this parking lot could hold about 300 plus cars so the Ravens had plenty of room to do this without the car's windshields. Many hours of entertainment the ravens brought us. This is an amazing example of how clever the raven is. It shows us there is always a way to achieve our goals.
Now back to Raven being a messenger, when it swoops into your life there is always something that needs to be said. Raven in many traditions is a trickster, when it teaches us a lesson it is never direct. For raven the lesson is the journey. In the Norse mythos Odin had two pet Ravens who were his messengers. He was also known to shapeshift into a Raven on many occasions. Raven being a creature of the Void, it was one of the first animals in most all creation stories, because of this they carry with them the energy of creation as well. When Raven perches next you be sure it will be a wild ride full of much inspiration, and passion. Ravens passion runs deep, to the deeps parts of your soul. It can assist you in many things pertaining to self discovery and transformation, for Raven is a master at shapeshifting and it can help you shift and change who you are, helping you to create a new person, a new life. But remember to do this Raven will take you deep with your soul, for to move forward we must understand our past, and we cannot progress until we have broken the chains that hold us to our past.
Now blend the Message of the Raven with Capricorn and you have some very Transformative Possibilities. Capricorn bringing you the drive to want change and Raven bringing you the Guidance and energy to create that change. With the two paired together it is a very powerful moment. The two paired together create a 1. 1 is a very progressive number, bringing with it new beginnings and drive. 1 gives us the focus to stay task oriented and complete our goals. So it is a great addition to the energies that flow right now.
All in all i would say the next few days are going to be great for those who need a reboot, and also for those needing some inspiration in life. This is a great time to start new projects and adventures.
